@mich-daveRed Arrow Hobbies is glad to announce we will be hosting BBD at our store again this year. This will be our 4th year hosting BBD and the 3rd at our store.
I hope to provide live music again this year. There will be plenty of electric outlets and for the first time, I will have city water (and pressure) available. The water will be run through a filter.
As in previous years, I could use some help.
1. Having a tally of who’s or how many are brewing will be a big help planning space. Andy, can you set up a place to register?
2. Food will be mainly potluck. I’ll bring my smokers and maybe a gas grill. We could use a few more. I’ll have tables for the potluck food. Could someone organize the potluck portion of the food?
3. a day or two before the event I could use some volunteers to help build the stage.
4. I may need to replace some of the wood used for the stage and am hoping for some donations of lumber. I’ll let you know soon after I inspect what I have.
For now, that’s it. If you have any suggestions for this years BBD, please throw them out on the forum.

@mich-daveWow! I think I have the bands lined up already! It usually takes a couple month. Venitia Sekema is the first band to accept. I have a few details to work out with Hard Soul and Psychild, but I don’t see a problem with them.

@mich-davePsychilds stage show pretty much requires darkness, so this year plan on staying late. They are a very good blues/jazz band with an unusual sixties era stage show.

I’m sure Andy will have his 4 tap set up on hand.
I am also able to bring up my Smoker box for you to use.
I’m sure we’ll have some Apple, Plum. and Hickory to put in it.as far as Lumber can you get an idea of what you might need so folks can start looking around.

Dave, Bronson and I can help the day of the event. Organize food or what not. I know that in the past we handed out the wrist bands and did what you needed done. Just let me know if you want me to do so. Are we having the people that come bring something for the grill like hot dogs or burgers? If so will the club provide the buns and condiments. I know it worked out real well the one year we did this. That way we had meat as well as sides.
Let me know.

Thanks Kim. I can certainly use the help. I don’t have a grill, only smokers. It would be nice to have a grill so we could do burgers and dogs quickly. I haven’t figured out what I’ll be smoking for the afternoon yet, but you’re right, we need some meat for all those side dishes.

We should probably at least set a start time for those who plan to participate in the competition… ideally, we run-off all our mashes at the same time.
I was planning on getting there around 10a(ish), but I won’t be ready to brew for a bit.
Dave do you have a start time in mind?
:cheers1

just talked to him and the bands kick off at Noon.
thought about a kick off brewing around 10:30-11 am.need a solid head count for the group boil.
if we have more than one kettle can handle we’ll have to stagger the brewers.
perhaps those that are brewing another batch should mash first
so they can move on to 2nd brew.
those that are only in for the Comp can mash second round.Dave also has a bit more Wheat than he thought so we plan to try and pull of a batch of Wheat wine what ever the size may be.
Dave is also making Scotch Eggs… shhh 👿
and a few other things will be in the Smoker.
right now looking at Chickens.
thighs and legs.
pork but or shoulders.
feel free to bring dogs and buba burgers to burn up on the grill or on someones propane burner…..:hppybeer
plans to end around 9-10ish after the band falls over.:fans -

If you are planning on attending Big Brew Day please signup so we have an idea of a head-count.
Right now there are only 17 on the signup… surely there will be more attending than that?!
