I have a friend who’s a sculpter. He makes molds of things like Godzilla and other sci-fi heads. He is very good and has won a national reputation (and awards) for his work. He’s been making 10’s of thousands of $$ per year selling these until the company that owns the rights to Godzilla shut him down for copywrite infringement. I made the comment to him about custom tap handles would be a cool thing to start making. His eyes lit up and he climbed out of that hole of depression that we all find ourselves in at one time or another.

I ran through a few ideas I’ve had and he added a few, but I’d like to hear what others would like to see. If you have any ideas for a “must have” tap handle, let me know. I hope to have some samples of his work to show off soon.

If he is good, he can probably make anything with the proper inspiration. I would like to see a tree – the stereotypical tree you drew when you were a kid. Except three dimensional.

Maybe sword looking. A falchion or scimitar. Nothing fancy. Just something when you look at it you say, “Yep. That is a sword.”

      Can he add color?

I like it. Best one yet. I’ll be passing all these suggestions on to Brian. We’ll see what he comes up with.

knowing you Dave we’d have to have the handle made out of Smoked apple wood.

For right now, he seems to have vanished. I forgot about how nomadic he is. Hopefully when he resurfaces, I can get him to make some molds for me, before vanishing again.
